Ioannis Seimenis holds a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Athens, an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Medical Physics from the University of Aberdeen. He is a medical physicist board-certified in both ionising and non-ionising radiation physics. He held a series of posts in the medical industry and in the private healthcare sector followed by research and academic posts. Ioannis is currently Professor of Medical Physics at the Democritus University of Thrace and Head of the Clinical Laboratories Division in the Medical School. He chairs the educational committee of the Hellenic Association of Medical Physicists. His main research interests lie in the field of MRI physics and clinical applications, as well as in the field of experimental dosimetry. He has co-authored 97 peer-reviewed publications and 135 abstracts in international conference proceedings, whilst he has participated in 25 competitive research projects funded by national and international research promoting bodies.
